Important Update: Changes to Our Art for Wellness Workshops πŸ’œ

At Art for Wellness CIC, our aim has always been to bring people together through creativity, friendship and wellbeing. Our workshops provide welcoming spaces where people can explore their creativity, learn new skills, reduce stress and enjoy time with others.

We want to share some important updates about our workshops, including the introduction of fee-paying sessions and the support we need to keep our community activities running.

Why are we making these changes?

As a small community organisation, we rely on funding, donations and support to cover the costs of running our workshops. This includes art and craft materials, venue costs and the resources needed to deliver our sessions.

Unfortunately, these costs continue to rise, and we need to find sustainable ways to keep our workshops going.

Our facilitators will continue to give their time voluntarily because they care deeply about our community and the difference creativity can make to people’s lives. However, relying on their generosity alone is not a sustainable long-term solution.

We are therefore introducing fee-paying workshops alongside our community activities to help contribute towards these costs.

Introducing our fee-paying workshops πŸ‚

Some special workshops, particularly seasonal crafts and activities requiring additional materials, will have a set booking fee.

For example, our Autumn Wreaths Workshop costs Β£12 per person, with bookings and payments made through Eventbrite.

These fees help us cover materials and the costs involved in delivering these special sessions.

Any charges will be clearly advertised before booking, so everyone knows what to expect.

Help us keep Wellness Wednesdays going πŸ’œ

Our Wellness Wednesday workshops are an important part of what we offer at St John’s Community Centre. They provide a regular opportunity for people to come together, get creative, build connections and support their wellbeing.

To help us continue running these sessions, we will be asking for donations from November onwards.

We will be collecting feedback from our attendees and inviting people to contribute what they can towards the running costs. Every donation, however small, will help us work towards keeping these sessions available for our community.

We understand that everyone’s financial circumstances are different, and we want to approach this in a way that is fair, understanding and supportive.

However, without sufficient donations and support, we may have to reconsider whether we can continue running these workshops in the long term. We want to be open about this because we care about our community and want to give our sessions the best possible chance of continuing.

What about our Monday workshops?

We are pleased to confirm that our Monday workshops are currently funded until the end of January.

This funding provides some reassurance for the coming months. However, we will continue to explore funding opportunities and other sources of support to help secure the future of our activities beyond this period.

How can you support Art for Wellness CIC?

There are several ways you can help us continue bringing creativity and wellbeing into our community:

  • Attend our workshops and take part in the activities we offer.
  • Donate towards Wellness Wednesdays from November, if you are able to.
  • Book our fee-paying workshops through Eventbrite.
  • Share our activities with friends, family and the wider community.
  • Help spread the word about the positive impact of creativity on wellbeing.

Every booking, donation and act of support makes a difference.

Thank you for being part of our community πŸ’œ

We know our workshops mean a great deal to many people, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who attends, volunteers, donates and supports our work.

These changes are about helping Art for Wellness CIC build a more sustainable future, so we can continue creating opportunities for people to connect, express themselves and experience the benefits of creativity.

Thank you for your understanding, kindness and continued support as we work together to keep our workshops going.

With warm wishes,

The Art for Wellness CIC Team
