On Our Travels – Art At The House (Shepley) 2021
On Our Travels – Our First Art Event at Cliffe House, Shepley

Heather and I couldn’t have been more excited for our very first art event at ArtAtTheHouse held at Cliffe House in Shepley. The two-day exhibition offered creative, interactive experiences, and we eagerly set off on Sunday morning, filled with curiosity and anticipation, not quite knowing what to expect but ready for an unforgettable adventure.

As soon as we arrived, the first stall we encountered was Wendy Wall Ceramics. The beautiful turquoise-themed displays, decorated with nature-inspired designs and twinkling fairy lights, immediately captured our attention and created a magical atmosphere. The artists greeted us warmly, which made the experience feel even more special as we began our journey through the exhibition.

The event was a treasure trove of creativity! There were so many incredible stalls and displays that we honestly didn’t know where to look first. From painters and illustrators to jewellers, textile and glass artists, furniture makers, ceramicists, and photographers – every corner of the venue was bursting with talent. It was a dream come true for art lovers like us!
One of the best parts was having the opportunity to chat with the artists. We learned about the materials and techniques they used to create their pieces, and it was wonderful to see the passion and love behind every item on display. We even had the chance to take home a few unique handmade items as mementoes of our experience.
Although it was impossible to buy everything we loved (there was simply so much to choose from!), we found a second-best option: being in the moment and enjoying the day.
It was an unforgettable first art event, and we’re already looking forward to our next creative outing together!
