Christmas Card Design Competition 2021: A Creative Celebration

Christmas Card Design Competition 2021

From 22nd October to 18th December 2021, we hosted a wonderful Christmas Card Design Competition for our members. We were overwhelmed by the creativity and effort that went into every submission, making the judging process a delightful challenge. It was truly heartwarming to see so many beautiful and unique designs, and it took us a long time to select the winning cards.

Christmas Card Winners 2021

First Prize
The winning design, Three Baubles, by Martha, was a stunning abstract piece with tonal contrasts and a shadowy, atmospheric feel. It was a real standout, and the subtle elegance of the design captivated everyone.

Second Prize
Sue’s Bright and Shiny Baubles brought a cheerful, light-hearted vibe to the competition. The bright, delightful colours and magical feel of this design made it an obvious choice for second place.

Third Prize
Sarah’s Merry Christmas Bauble was a beautiful reflection of the Zen art theme. Its calm and relaxing doodle perfectly conveyed the peaceful spirit of the season, earning it third place.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who entered the 2021 competition. It was such a joy to see the creativity flow, and we were thoroughly impressed by all the submissions.

On behalf of the Art for Wellness Team, we wish everyone a peaceful and happy 2022. May the new year bring fresh starts, new ideas, and lots of creative fun for all!

Christmas is the Perfect Time for an Art Challenge!

We had so much fun seeing the diverse range of designs created by our members. The competition allowed members to choose from a variety of Christmas themes, including:

  • Funny
  • Scenic
  • Colourful
  • Traditional
  • Cute

The beauty of this competition was that artists could express their creativity in any medium they liked—whether it was through cards, drawings, pastels, appliqué materials, sewing, or painting. The only requirement was that the card be handmade with love.

How the Competition Worked

Members registered and agreed to the terms and conditions. Then, they created their Christmas-themed cards and uploaded them to the competition page. Voting followed, and members had the opportunity to vote for their favourite designs.

We provided the option to use ready-made cards, but for those who didn’t have a blank card, they could simply take an A4 piece of thick paper or card, fold it in half, and design their own unique greeting.

The Joy of Sharing Creativity

The competition was open for submissions from 22nd October to 4th December 2021, with voting taking place the following week. The winners were announced in mid-December. The competition page was only accessible to registered members, creating a space to share and celebrate the artistic spirit.

Many of our members also shared the competition with friends, encouraging them to join and vote for their favourite designs. This created a vibrant, supportive community where creativity truly thrived.

Amazing Prizes and a Special E-book

As part of the competition, we offered amazing prizes for the top designs, including a signed copy of Art For Wellness Story. Although the competition was open to UK residents, members from outside the UK were still invited to participate. All entries were celebrated in a special Christmas Card Design gallery, which will be available for everyone to enjoy.

We hope that everyone, no matter where they were in the world, had fun participating, and the competition certainly brought our global creative community closer together.

Looking Back on a Wonderful Celebration

The 2021 Christmas Card Design Competition was a fantastic success, filled with creativity, joy, and community spirit. We are so grateful to every member who participated, and we are already looking forward to the next competition.

A special thank you goes to Heather, Emma, Jaynie, June, and Debbie for their promotional designs, which helped bring the competition to life.

Once again, congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to all who took part. Here’s to more creative challenges in the future!

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Art for Wellness Team!
