Summer Flower Wreath Workshop Brings Creativity to HoylandswaineFest

Published by Art for Wellness CIC

There is something truly special about bringing people together through creativity, and that’s exactly what happened at our Summer Flower Wreath Workshop held at Hoylandswaine Church as part of HoylandswaineFest.

This special event was a taster session showcasing the kind of therapeutic art experiences we offer through Art for Wellness CIC. It gave people the opportunity to experience how creativity can support wellbeing, encourage mindfulness and bring people together in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

From the moment people arrived, the church was filled with conversation, laughter and colourful blooms as participants created their own unique floral wreaths. No two wreaths were the same, and that is one of the things we love most about therapeutic art. Everyone brought their own personality, ideas and creativity, resulting in beautiful pieces that reflected who they are.

Our workshops are about much more than making something to take home. They provide an opportunity to slow down, be present, connect with others and enjoy a little time away from the pressures of everyday life. Working with flowers, colours and natural textures encouraged everyone to relax, unwind and simply enjoy the creative process.

The flower wreath activity demonstrated how therapeutic art doesn’t have to be complicated. By focusing on colour, design and creativity, participants naturally became absorbed in the moment, leaving behind the stresses of daily life while enjoying meaningful conversations with others. This is exactly what our regular therapeutic art workshops are designed to do—help people improve their wellbeing through creativity in a safe, supportive and inclusive space.

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Margaret for inviting Art for Wellness CIC to be part of HoylandswaineFest. It was a privilege to spend the day in such a beautiful setting and meet so many wonderful people from the local community.

The atmosphere throughout the session was warm, welcoming and full of encouragement. It was lovely to see friendships forming, conversations flowing and smiles appearing as each wreath came to life.

At Art for Wellness CIC, we believe creativity has the power to support wellbeing, reduce stress, build confidence and strengthen community connections. Workshops like this remind us that you don’t need artistic experience to enjoy the benefits of being creative—just a willingness to have a go.

If you enjoyed this taster session, we’d love to welcome you to one of our regular therapeutic art workshops. Each session explores different creative techniques inspired by nature, the seasons and mindfulness, giving you time to relax, express yourself and discover the positive impact creativity can have on your wellbeing.

We would also like to thank everyone who came along and made the workshop such a success. Your enthusiasm and creativity made the day truly memorable.

📸 Watch this space! We’ll soon be sharing a gallery of the wonderful wreaths created during the workshop, and we can’t wait for you to see the fantastic results.

We look forward to seeing you again at one of our future therapeutic art workshops.

With thanks,
