#A4WROCKS – Small Stones, Big Gratitude
Sometimes the smallest things can carry the biggest messages.
We’re excited to introduce #A4WROCKS, a new social media campaign from Art for Wellness CIC, inviting our community to spread creativity, kindness and gratitude – one painted rock at a time.

What is #A4WROCKS?
The idea is beautifully simple.
During our workshops – or at home in your own time – participants are invited to paint a small rock with a message, pattern, symbol or image inspired by gratitude. It might be something you’re thankful for, a word of encouragement, or a design that brings calm or joy.
On the back of each rock, write:
#A4WROCKS – share where you found me
From there, each rock begins its own little journey.
What happens to the rocks?
Once painted, you can choose what feels right for you:
- 🌿 Keep it – as a reminder of gratitude, grounding, or a moment of calm
- 🎁 Gift it – to a friend, neighbour, or loved one
- 🌍 Leave it to be found – on a bench, a wall, a path, a windowsill (always thoughtfully and responsibly)
If someone finds a rock, they’re invited to take a photo and share it on social media using #A4WROCKS, letting us know where it was discovered and what it meant to them.
In this way, each rock becomes a quiet connection between strangers – a moment of pause, surprise and kindness in a busy day.

Why rocks?
Rocks are grounding.
They connect us to nature, to place, and to the present moment.
Painting rocks is also a wonderfully accessible creative activity:
- No artistic experience needed
- Gentle and mindful
- Easy to do alone or together
- Perfect for slowing down and focusing on the here and now
At Art for Wellness CIC, we believe creativity doesn’t need to be complicated to be meaningful. Sometimes, holding a small stone and adding colour is enough.
Gratitude, creativity and wellbeing
Research – and lived experience – shows that gratitude supports wellbeing, helping us notice what’s good, even during challenging times. When combined with creative expression, it can support:
- Reduced stress
- Improved mood
- A sense of connection
- Moments of calm and reflection
#A4WROCKS brings these elements together in a way that is playful, inclusive and community-led.
How to take part
- Find a small rock or pebble
- Paint it with a gratitude-inspired design or message
- Write #A4WROCKS – share where you found me on the back
- Decide whether to keep it, gift it, or leave it to be found

You can also tag Art for Wellness CIC so we can celebrate and share your posts.
Let’s see where the rocks travel…
We can’t wait to see where the #A4WROCKS appear – in gardens, parks, doorsteps, paths and unexpected places – and to read the stories that follow them.
A small stone.
A moment of gratitude.
A ripple of kindness.
Let’s spread a little wellbeing, one rock at a time 💛
